Biography

Dr. Behnke graduated from the SUNY at Buffalo, Magna Cum Laude with a BS degree in Biochemistry. He went on to medical school at the Penn State College of Medicine and graduated with an MD in 1987. He served as a medical officer in the United States Air Force at Andrews AFB in Washington, D.C. where he also was an Assistant Professor of Medicine at the Uniformed Services University of the Health Sciences. After his military service, Dr. Behnke completed his Endocrinology Fellowship and founded the Cumberland Valley Endocrinology Center in Carlisle, Pa. whose vision was to provide the highest quality Endocrinology care all to the glory of God.

Dr. Behnke has extensive International expertise and has served as a guest lecturer in many developing countries in Eastern Europe and the Balkans. He has been a speaker for the EASD and has served as a Fulbright Scholar for the U.S. Department of State.Dr. Behnke’s love of medicine and of God led him to serve as an Adjunct Professor at Liberty University’s College of Medicine since its inception. In 2018, he followed God’s call to combine his love of God and Medicine to join LUCOM full time.
