Dr. Albers has 32 years of practice experience as a board certified family physician, board certified addictionologist, a certified Medical Review Officer. He has directed Liberty University Health Services for 27 years and began Light Medical in 1987. Light Medical offers comprehensive medical care and consultations for adults and children in both the inpatient and outpatient settings.
Dr. Albers has authored four books and numerous articles about health care, politics and education, and has spoken across the country at national and local meetings. He has experience in outpatient psychiatry, wound care, geriatric care, sports medicine, and occupational health, and has been the medical director of Pathways, an alcohol, and drug treatment program.
Dr. Albers was the Chairman for the Liberty Godparent Foundation, is the Chairman of the Liberty Christian Academy Board, has taught DLP classes at Liberty University, and is involved with the music ministry of Thomas Road Baptist Church.
