Prior Authorization Update

Dear Patient,

At CVFP Medical Group and Collaborative Health Partners, our top priority has always been to provide you and your loved ones with high-quality, cost-effective healthcare services. Over the years, we have worked tirelessly to collaborate with various healthcare entities, ensuring that you receive the care you need, when you need it.

However, we find ourselves facing an issue that affects both our organization and our valued patients. As part of our commitment to your well-being, we often serve as the referring provider, assisting you in connecting with specialists for essential tests such as Echocardiograms, MRIs, CT scans, and more. A referral, in essence, is a request from one physician/provider to another, seeking their expertise in managing your condition and providing the necessary services or ruling out a specific diagnosis.

Once a patient is referred, the rendering provider or facility, responsible for administering the tests, handling procedures, and billing for the services, is required to obtain prior authorization from your insurance company to ensure coverage for the tests. We collaborate with various healthcare systems and groups, including UVA, Carilion, Sentara, VCU, Inova, Duke, OrthoVirginia, and Rayus Radiology. These esteemed partners manage the prior authorization process for patients we refer to them.

However, it has come to our attention that not all providers or facilities in our local market follow the same approach. In cases where prior authorization from an insurance company is not obtained, patients may be held responsible for out-of-pocket expenses or may need to seek alternative providers. We understand the inconvenience this may cause you, and we want to assure you that we are actively working to address this issue.

Our dedicated team is diligently exploring alternative avenues to minimize any disruptions to your healthcare needs. We are committed to finding solutions that will ensure you receive timely access to the necessary tests recommended by your primary care provider.

We value your trust and will continue to work tirelessly to provide you with the best possible care. Thank you for your understanding and cooperation.

Sincerely,

The Administration of CVFP Medical Group & Collaborative Health Partners
